I used a Rustoleum "stainless steel" color in one of there taller "professional" cans for my grill on my 69 charger that I used to own. Believe it or not I purchased it for 1$ a can at surplus jobber store. I have not seen it anywhere since. The color I thought was very close'

Ford used to sell the correct argent in a spray can.  I think I still have some of it in the shop. I'll see if I do.  The correct paint even has a different smell to it.

I get my Argent paint at BAPS in York, PA . I can get in it spray cans or in pints , quarts, ect. Denis has light, med and dark argent. I got all my paint there for Slotts when he restored my grille. Denis also has 80% of all the Mopar interior color formulas changed over to the new paints. He is the paint guru.

I spoke with Scott harms on this subject on the phone a few months ago.
He told me that there are 2 sources that have the original paint. Neither one will sell the paint outright. They made a pact sworn not to sell it but to offer it as a spray service. Very expensive quote I received!

Wakening a dead post.... Mike Here, One of them was me (AllTrim), retired from that 2011, and doing other stuff...

For the record it was a business deal, ie a contract. Briefly, the details:  With so many out there claiming they had the right stuff?.... Really having the right stuff added value to our product without having to compete with the "Burger Kings" of trim and all the marketing hype of the day.. Yes it pissed off some (mostly those who complained about price even when it was sold retail), but more than enough were just fine with it and glad to get it done right... Unfortunately, it caused an issue for those that could not send their parts in, like on the deck panel in this post...

Fast Forward 8 years, This year 2018-2019, there has been an increase in inquires for the paint, more than in the last 7 years...  However, i don't have time to get back into the hobby/business, and the other party has other stuff going on at this time. As a result: as of the last couple of months our contract has been revisited...

The last of what we had/have is available. FYI it is a 1 part formula, not 3 part, as advertised elsewhere as "Authentic".. and it does not work in spray cans... All the correct components act to clog nozzles (so whats missing in those formulas to get them to work?).. It is Lacquer... Look in any Mopar Literature (service manuals), there are only 2 original part numbers for the mix (3 if you count the silver with no texture)...

More info: As of April 2018..  PPG announced the final discontinuation of lacquer, and all the toners and components have been bought up... I dug deep and scoured the system for what i needed to go with the last of the NOS toners i had left, and came up with enough mix for less than 56 people now (if sold in pints).

However, to get it out to more people i have been providing 1/2 pints (and spraying select parts), but most only need about 4 OZ, and am going to to something on ebay (oeargent)... soon!

Well, let me be the first to re-welcome you to the site from Canada and thanks for thinking of others as well. Is one of the products you've mentioned correct for the tail lamps and rear body panel on a 74 Challenger?

OK, what quantities and prices are we looking at here? Is this a PPG product and does it have a paint code #? I have a mailbox in the US and there should be no problem taking it home. As for your mail, I have no idea, sorry!
