ECS Evaporation Control System

Ok Guys, so this might be kind of a dumb question but I hope I'll get an answer anyway.  So I got a 71 Challenger, however the fuel vapor line just ends in the Engine bay and ist not hooked up to anything. So isn't this potentially dangerous? I mean Fuel Vapor is flammable, isn't it? What if a wire catches Fire? it's an old car after all. So what do I do with the line? I'm mean I can't just plug it, gas tank needs to be vented, and I don't wanna track down the missing parts.  I can't be the first with this problem so, what did you guys do?

One version of the evap system does exactly that, just runs a line to the engine compartment and its left open. I wouldn't worry too much about a fire hazard as it doesn't really vent off all that much. When you are driving the air moving past the line helps to pull out any vapor present. Not necessarily the best system out there but it works. If you are worried about it, put a small filter on it (like they use for motorcycle vents).

But to be honest, the one you listed is probably better, lower profile and will blend in. I would think any motorcycle shop would have either.
