Trunk Drop (Extension) Tab Orientation
« on: November 16, 2019 - 12:14:28 PM »
Been a bit since my last post since I got busy with other things for a bit, but I'm now finishing up the rear end of my car....  All new frame rails, trunk, rear seat floor, wheel houses, quarters, trunk drops, tail panel, mini tubs, and spring relocation too.  A Dynacorn shell will only be slightly less OE than this thing when all is said and done!     Oh well, I'm saving a fortune doing it myself and it has sentimental value so it is what it is!

So, on the trunk extensions there are two tabs on the side toward the back that mate with the trunk floor in some way.  Do both of these go UNDER the trunk floor, or OVER it, or one of each?  I've scoured the internet and most of the pics are too blurry to tell or conflict each other - I've seen pics with them installed both ways.  Can somebody confirm the correct way to install these?  I appreciate the help!!!

We recently finished installing new trunk floor and extensions. Everything we do on this project is a first for us, so this is my opinion and NOT confirmation. Now that I have my disclaimer out of the way, I will tell you that we tried the tabs in all the various configurations that you mentioned. We finally decided that both tabs UNDER the trunk floor seemed to fit the best. Hopefully we were correct, because its all welded now.  ;)
Good Luck!
