Really glad you could get it opened before you resorted to a crowbar, Sawzall, or worse. Good luck on your drive west.

So glad to hear you got this fixed. Owning a 'vert I was watching to see the outcome of this. Now you can enjoy the rest of your trip. Just thinking  here, how many times did you still go to the passenger side before realizing the driver's door works.

Thanks Guys.....    Yes it was nice NOT to have to crawl across the center counsel.....     AND I only went to the passenger side once today -- when I stopped for a celebabatory ice cream at DQ   :)

No damage....  well, a few scratches under the door lip where I used a screwdriver to help the door a bit --  but I had to do what was necessary.     I also figured that I'm going to put about 8,000 or more on her so she's going to get a few bruises along the way......

That said, I hope I don't have to deal with a stuck door again :)

In Alabama tonight.... there are great people here.j.... including Ruste/SE who gave me a ring and we had dinner together -- and a great visit telling each other stories!

I'll try to remember and take a photo and post......  They are about an inch square, tapered, slide and are mounted on the door jamb near the striker plate and there is a plastic companion piece that mounts to the door.....  they match up when the door is closed.   I assume they were added due to the flex a vert has as well as the weight of those doors.......

my passenger door has been stuck since a 7/4 car show. i used s coat hanger to unlock it from the door latch. i used the working drivers side door as a reference. easy peazy i must have used 3/4 of a can of wd40 on all mechanism of the passenger door.
