Here in Australia during the '50's & '60's we had a locally manufactured GMH car, the rest were mainly English and American imports. Ford started to manufacture the Falcon in 1960 here in Australia followed by the Chrysler Valiant (Signet). I was impressed by the lines and performance of these Valiants, the Falcons were under powered and not suitable for the harsher Aussie conditions but did make sales.
My first road car was a GMH utility (1/2 Ton Truck), all the local Hot Rod guys had early Holden sedans (GMH) so I modified my Ute and put most to shame including the Slant 6 Valiants. Finally I purchased a New Valiant Pacer 4 dr (Dodge Dart) which had our locally manufactured 245ci engine. This was the start of a long association I was to have with the MOPAR brand.
