alternator wiring questions
« on: June 06, 2005 - 09:56:26 AM »
I've got a 73 440 cuda so I know it's likely not stock, but I had an electrical fire and fried most the wires under the hood. I got everything back together, except my alternator isn't charging the battery and the car dies if I unplug the battery. I assume that I just didn't connect something correctly and want to check that first. The alternator is of the multi wire variety, with 2 nipples on the back, a screw on at the bottom, and as I recall there may be a 4th wire on the other side.

Which wire would be the problem with not charging, and what/where should it be connected?

Is there a wiring diagram I could refer to to double check the other under hood alternator, regulator and resistor conections?

thanks
