as the car is running you can open the mixtures screws up to increase fuel & lower EGT or install a jet 2-4 sizes larger on the prmary side  before starting the car

Rod ratio & cam design can make a Huge differnce in milage , Mopar designed the advantage in on both with better rod ratios & wider lifters
