Holly 750 cfm
« on: July 22, 2005 - 07:58:12 AM »
I just bought this car and it has a Holly 750 on it . Is this carb going to provide enough air  for a 440 or should  try a bigger carb?

I've run 750 holley carbs on many 440 engines....most using that carb were mild builds or stock. I wouldn't use it on a 500hp motor, but for most builds it is sufficient.

Sorry, I forgot to add that the builder estimates the HP at aroung 450 . Would I be better going to an 850? I friend has a spare 850 and said I could try it

With that much horse power, definitely go with the 850.

if you have access to a dyno make a pull with each carb
My experience suggests the 850 will be the best choice
