I feel the same way.... well more like gang raped. :eekbig:

I don't mind though... as matter of fact, I kinda enjoyed it!  $20,000 for a basket case '70 cuda 440 six pack, 4 speed, Dana 60, and shaker hood.

It'll take more than that to get it done like I want it.

Mannnn so far with everyones prices looks like I got raped.   :'(

Oh well, shes me baby eh..... :grinyes:
The funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realize it doesn't say anything it's to late to stop reading it.

Well I paid too much, back in 2K I pd 3,650 for the rustbucket/clone/73, I over 20K with a lot left to do & did 90% of the labor myself.
in 03 the "texas" 'Cuda kinda fell into my lap, 2,500 & it's still rough, but no where near as bad as the 73, should be able to do it up pretty nice for 15 to 18K! (if prices don't double again in thje next 5 or 6 years)
as for the original 74 'Cuda, 4500 , fully loaded factory order back near the end of 73, sold it in near mint condition for 1,500 in 81! if I only knew, coulda parked it behind the garage & rebuilt my own car!  :ack: Rich.

CODY, you never said how the shaker hood cable debacle turned out? As well as the $5K refund offer from the previous owner? From you saying $20K, its obvious the owner did good and gave you the $5k back.

Even at $20K, a shaker hood '70 'cuda 6-pack is a steal. Being a LA plant car with no broadcast sheet, the car still has enough background (the pics you got from previous owner) are really invaluable. Seeing the car back in the '80's was surreal to see, and will definitely make up for the broadcast sheet and any questionable issues. Heck, you're about $50K under the average selling point of these cars, so anything you put in the car, you will still make out good, not that you're selling. And prices are not going to get nay lower, in fact anything Hemi and second best, 440-six pack will continue to escalate.

So lick your wounds, and be thankful you beat out the moparts crowd on that car. Will Galen be making your new data plate?

In November of last year I paid 25K for my 71 challenger R/T 440-6 pack 4 speed car in my sig. It's been a race car most of it's life. It came with (the good part) a complete 426 race hemi with mag cross ram, a 440 solid cam race motor, and enough parts to build another complete 426 hemi. Also a bunch of other challenger/mopar stuff that I ebayed.  After selling off what I didn't want or need I have about 15K in it. It didn't come with it's original 6 pack motor but I did get the numbers matching 4 speed. It's a pretty cool car.

In 1989 I paid 3500.00 for a real 68 S/S hemi dart body. It now lives in Switzerland

In 1996 0r 97 I paid 8500.00 for a real RO23 S/S belvedere II body. It now lives in Mi. and is a class legal SS/DA car

in 1999 I paid 12K for a 66 dodge coronet hemi automatic minus the motor. Nice car, had 53K miles on it. Original motor had a big hole in the side of it. It now lives just a couple of towns over from where I live.
