Newbie with project
« on: July 30, 2005 - 09:54:40 AM »
Hey people great site you have here. I live in the pacific northwest (Spokane, Wa.) I bought my first mopar in 78, a 72 chally, in 1980 when gas hit .75 a gallon I traded it for a 68 datsun B210 (I still kick myself in the ass for that  :banghead: Its been 25 years now and the wife and I wanted a project to work on, BUILD IT OUR WAY, we figure it will take us 4 to 5 years to complete. Up here it's almost impossible to find any e-bodys in any shape at all, so we found a guy down in Texas that has a place called Texastoybox.com, he had a 72 chally project car for 1200.00 plus 600.00 to ship it up here, we took it. We knew it was going to be alot of work but we did'nt mind. Our hearts are in it and we have the passion to do this because we know someday we'll be sitting proud and smilling from ear to ear in our car that we built together. Heres some pics. The engine was a froze up 318 witch we already trashed. The vin# is JH23H2B, no fender tag. You'll be seeing us in the diffenant forums asking questions and advice during our rebuild. We already bought a good used dash pad ( our first part). We will postin pics during our rebuild.
Thanks for having us
Jeff and Brita

Welcome to the board and welcome back to Mopar World! Looks like someone gave the car a "re-sale red" paint job, hope you plan taking the whole thing back down to bare metal............just to make sure of what you really got. Looks like a fairly solid project and for $1800.00 I'd say you did good !

Welcome to the board Jeff and Brita!  You two are in for a fun ride.  My husband and I just finished up a five year resto of our 70 challenger.  Every nut and bolt was put on togther and we had a great time.  Post up any questions you have...someone on this board will know the answer.

Welcome again!!
