New member with a Cuda '340 seat question
« on: October 18, 2005 - 06:11:30 AM »
Hi everyone,

I am a new forum member and looking forward to meeting other Mopar fans. I recently purchased a matching numbers '73 340 'Cuda 4-speed and have a question about the front bucket seats.  I know that the rear seat is correct (Empire), because that is where I found the build sheet, but the front seat covers are a different pattern (Shallow Elk).  Also, maybe I am crazy, but they look a little wider than E body seats (I am going on memory from my Challenger R/T years ago).  Is there a way to determine what car these seats are from by checking the numbers on the metal tags on the rear seat springs?

Thanks in advance,

Jason

Hey Jason, welcome to the board!! I'm also located in Georgia, in the Marietta area.  If you post a pic or two of the seats, someone might be able to identify them for you.

Congrats on your recent purchase! Sure would love to see the pics of the car also....

Welcome to the site.  As for your question, I too wouldn't know what the seats would be out of without a photo.

I am in Smyrna- I never see any Cudas at Cruise nights around here. Would love to see some other local Cobb County Cudas. We should try to meet somewhere before it gets too cold.

Here is a picture from Jason of his seat.  That isn't for a 73 and looks like a 71 or 72 to me . . . what does everyone else think??

Go to Year One's on-line catalog and they show pictures of most of these seat covers. That's how I confirmed that my car had 70 Firebird seats.

Welcome Charles, looks like a nice Cuda you have there! You might want to include the Challengers in that invitation, Rev won't be able to come if not! LOL J/K, hope you have a fun get together. Just be careful, I've heard Rev and Red Line are pretty rough characters!
