ya i know, old site was the shiz nit, well nuts happens and unfortunately we lost lots of info, some great members. new site has too many forums added, like some things could be in general tech. you know what im saying, its not gonna be same though

3. Too bad you don't like all the new forums - I didn't design the site around what
you wanted. I had many requests to make the site easier to navigate and so far I'm getting a lot of compliments. General Tech was getting too out of hand since it was a "catch-all" for anything and everything. That makes it very hard for anyone to search for something specific so the same questions get asked a million times. Besides, if I waited for months to make the changes then it would be too difficult to move all the threads. I guess I just can't make everyone happy.
As for asking this question there, it would make sense. I can't force anyone to stick around but how will the site grow if someone is turned off by what seems to be a fledgeling site with only a few members. Post any way and see what you get. The site is only three weeks old and already has over 650 members (most all of which were previously active on D-C.com). There's an average of 50 users online at any given time with 30 new members and 700 new posts each day. None of it would be possible without the participation and support of the awesome community that we had.
Back to the car... if it's been sitting in grass/dirt for that long then be sure to check it completely for rust. Did you look in the trunk, rear wheelwells, front floors, and behind the rear valence? How did the interior look? I'm assuming it's an auto but is it a column or console shift? Was there a fender tag with the car? The body stampings on a 68 match the VON number on the fender tag and not the VIN tag so without it you mostly have a #s matching dash (ok, not quite but close). As Chryco mentioned, the tough parts to find on those cars are the fenders, grill, and hood as well as taillights, vinyl top trim, a few dash pieces, console, and upper door pads. The factory disc brakes are $$$ to replace if it has them. If all those pieces are all still in good shape and the body is solid then $9k wouldn't be a bad deal. It's not a great deal but it's livable. Without pics it's nearly impossible to tell - I've seen "driver" cars for slightly more and basket cases for slightly less with all the original parts. In the end - is it worth $9k
