71 Cuda Go Wing under decklid with Cut-outs
« on: February 07, 2003 - 07:11:00 PM »
I just purchased a new deck lid with the under lid cut-outs for a go-wing. I also have the go-wing and mounting hardware, but the bracket does not seem to fit in the cutout properly. I have attached a pic of the new lids cutout, can somebody tell me if this is correct for 71.

These are the brackets I have from YO, which are suppose to be correct for 71 only.

440six:

Your brackets are the correct 1971 brackets, but your trunk lid has the holes for the 1970 spoilers: either the 1970 wing (that big "comma-shaped" hole) or for the AAR lip spoiler (the smaller square hole to the left of it; there should be, I think, a total of 4 square holes to mount the AAR lip spoiler).

By the black coating on the lid, it looks like one of those reproduction lids sold from sources like Year One or The Paddock.  They will not mount the correct 1971 spoiler.

I hope this helps gets you straight.

Thanks, that's what I figured. I ordered this lid from a place called showcars, I told them that it had to have the cut outs for a 71 go-wing and this is what they sent. To top it off I waited 10 weeks for it. I would'nt recommend them to anyone.
