one of the projects.
« on: September 19, 2005 - 01:47:33 PM »
For the mopar part of our arsenal we have 2 70 challengers.  The first, my daily driver, it began life as a 383 2 barral with an auto tranny.  Since then it has been changed to a 4 speed with some slight engine work done.  It is the car in the signature.  The other began life a 318 auto car--but it’s an S/E.  This car we got first of the 2 but it has sadly gotten used to being the second place project nearly all the time.  But some changes have happened to it.  its got a new vinyl top, a 440 out of something, I cant read the #s but I want to say its a 72 engine for the lack of power it has compared to the 383.  But it’s got a new carb, 727, new exhaust, carpets, some simple stuff.  One big drawback the car has is the fact that it has all the original suspension, aside from air shocks in the back, for a small block so yeah, it doesn’t handle very well.  My plans are to turn it into a 1:1 horsepower to CI ratio and upgrade the suspension and tranny.  Any suggestions?

Very cool projects bb!  Are you doing a Camaro too?  Must see a big difference in prices for restoring the two.

If you're looking for a car that handles, would you consider a G-Machine sort of car or do you want something that looks more stock?

for the 69 f-body, its now driving with a new crate 350 turbo 350 trans.  its also wearing midnight blue paint with dual white stripes, 3 inch cowl hood and the Z-28 spoiler.  i put probably a grand total of about 20 hours into that car.  it belongs to my best friend and he did a full frame off resto and at the time the picture was taken, we had just finished painting the front end in POR 15 and got it to roll.  as for that challenger, lately its been sitting in a barn...  but it gets started every couple weeks or so.  with school, and my own bugs in my own challenger, it might be awhile till i get enough money and time to do any major work to it.  as for looks that i go for, i always liked the cars that look stock but are all modern.  sleepers!
