How to remove Side Roof Rail Chrome Trim on a Challenger?
« on: September 19, 2005 - 08:01:20 AM »
Well, the subject says it all.  I've been trying to figure out how the chrome trim pieces that run along the window opening on the roof comes off the car.  Any hints?

Thanks!

Kim

ya have quite a number of screws that need to be removed prior to getting the chrome to come off.....move the door seals to expose these screws....

Lemon_Twist said it all.  Just be sure to remove the small stainless trim on the front A-pillar if it was a vinyl top car. ;)

Thanks guys.  I'm still taking the interior apart, but everytime I've taken a < beer > break, I end up looking at that chrome trim and scratching my head.  It's good to know there's a complete encyclopedia of knowledge waiting to help!

hi,
pull the weather stripping back, under that there are a bunch of screws take them out and the outside c channel will come off, but be sure to pull it slow and a little at a time becaus e there is a foam holding it on good. then one you take that off there is the drip rail chrome, do the same pull the screws and slowly pull the chrome, this has a rubber adhesive backing to it so you might want to heat it up with a heat gun or you wifes hair dryer. If you take your time it should be just fine but be carefull not to bend the chrome. I have another set if it doesnt turn out. just kidding it will be fine! later good luck with your project!
