allow me to re-introduce...
« on: September 24, 2005 - 02:45:51 PM »
Hi kids... I can't remember if I ever officially posted a newbie hello, so here goes:

I'm a 42-year-old musician, and I've had the E-body jones since my grandmother's neighbor had a '71 'Cuda ragtop back in the days before I had a license, growing up forty miles from Carlisle, PA.  My revenge was sweet when I found my '70 'Cuda clone (sublime+black, 440+727, console+slapstick, rubber bumpers) at Carlisle in 1990.  I had been looking for a turnkey car, since my '70 Charger R/T (u-code R/T, 440+727 non-#'s, FC7, AC, PW, 6-way seat) had already been undergoing slow restification (not by me...) for a couple of years and was still a long way from being a driver.....

So now the 'Cuda has been a weekly cruiser for fifteen years and is getting shaggy (needs a teardown and rebuild to hemicuda status) and the Charger just lost brakes due to its overly lumpy cam and a flaky vacuum reserve cylinder (guess who's going back to a more stock cam?), which cost me a bad crimp on my front valence and a slightly tweaked right fender (doh!).

So which do I deal with first?  Re-cam the Charger and get the valence and fender done, or tear into the 'Cuda?  I reckon I'll wait on the 'Cuda until the new Goodmark full quarters are available in a few months...

In the meantime, I'll fight my woman for the keys to our '05 Magnum R/T (black, loaded) which, I must say, is a nice automobile to drive and draws many approving glances and inquiries.

I'm still looking for my next Mopar, which will be a 1970 Challenger convertible R/T (clone is fine) orange+black, side stripe, rallye hood with blackout, NO wings, 727 slapstick console, 383, 440, or 440+6 car. If you're selling an orange '70 Challenger ragtop, I'm interested, as long as it's not a $100k original... I'm gonna drive heck out of it!

Love the board, great members, great info, great site.  Thanks, C-C.com!  (BTW: Here is a pic of my boys...)

Nice cars you have there!  They're beautiful!
1972 Dodge Challenger Rallye 340, AT, Code TB3=Super Blue, SBD=8/17/1971.  Yes, a Rallye without the fender louvers from the factory because of the body side molding option.

Phil in New England-Massachusetts  Always thank God for what you have!
