Wher should I start?
« on: October 08, 2005 - 05:57:36 AM »
I'm getting ready to start my new project. It's a 68 barracuda that needs a lot of love. The first thing I want to take care of is the suspension.I plan on putting a lot of HP under the hood(not sure what size yet)but I want the car to be ready for the street. There's no point of building your dream car if you can't take it out and show it off around town IMO.I'm new to the MOPAR thing.I'm used to my chevy trucks (4x4's).Any guidlines I should follow when putting togather a suspension package???Is the stock A-arms strong enough if i just get a front end rebuild kit???Will the stock rear end be strong enough???Any help will be great. Thanks for your time.

Does it have front disc or drum? There are a couple options for discs if you need them. You also might want to switch to the larger bolt pattern for more wheel options.Stock a-arms will hold up fine but you will probably want to get larger diameter torsion bars.If it doesn`t have one you want an 8 3/4 rear end, they did come stock in some of those cars with the small bolt pattern or you can get one from a larger car with the big bolt pattern and narrow it to fit like I did with mine.
