Are OEM SB Chrysler rocker’s OK to use with an Edelbrock headed 408 stroker? If I stay under 4k RPM and replace them after about 3,000 miles?
My dad was sent 2 sets of OEM rockers when he rebuilt his 318 back in the late ‘80’s, I found them and am thinking of using them for my Edelbrock headed 408. I will use them for a couple thousand miles and always under 4k RPM. Why I want to use them is because I would like to gain more money and knowledge to buy the ‘right’ rockers for my application. (Although I have a good idea of what I want thanks to you guys).
I can’t go high RPM anyway; I’m using a stock fuel pump and 600cfm carb and may burn a piston if run at high RPM, right?
The rockers are soaking in vinegar now to eat away at 20 year old rust. (working great!)
