Advice on Value
« on: October 19, 2005 - 09:18:19 PM »
I am not an E-Body guy, but have the opportunity to buy a somewhat survivor car.

1972 Plymouth Barracua, #'s Matching 340/Trans, Has all of the Cuda options except the ralley gauge cluster.  Car is unmolested & original paint.  Interior is perfect and has a new vinyl top.  What is the market value of a car like this?  I was told that this car is 1 of 200 something produced, if that really matters.

Car will need a little work in the trunk pan, and wheel lip/lower quarter patches.  Interior is perfect/car runs nice/A/C works good.  Build Sheet/Fender Tag.

It may be a survivor, but it looks more like a survivor in need of a restoration. With that being said, it doesnt look like it would be that hard of a restoration and it would most certainly benefit the car. As is, I would say less than 15k depending on how it ran, the floor pans, and any other flaws.

The guy is a Muscle Car Collector and needs to get rid of one car and the 72 Barracuda is it.  All of his cars are restored and is currently restoring 5 others.  Any info on price would be appreciated!  I know Cuda's are the heat right now, but definitely know that an E-Body in this shape is definitely worth considering.  Even though it is a Barracuda vs. Cuda.

In the condition I see the car as in the pics, I'd have to put it in the price range of $8,500.00-$10,000.00.  It would need a paint job, minimal rust repair, and then you'd have a very nice 340 Barracuda that could probably bring around $16,500-$18,500.00 in today's market. ;)

This is what NADA says....  For Low Retail Value (that's what I figured this one was)..

TOTAL PRICE  $7,475

To me...that seems a little low for a numbers matching car.  I'd guesstimate 8K - 10K is fair.

 Hello,
I would have to agree with the others, 8,500.00 to 10,000 depending on were you sell it.  It would be a very nice start to one. A easy resto and you could double your money. Well good luck. Do you have any other pictures of the engine bay?
