Anyone from Canada/Alberta on the site?
« on: November 11, 2005 - 03:11:01 AM »
If anyone is from Canada I would like to ask them a few questions about importing a car from the states. Also, if there is anyone from Alberta, I would like to get some input on where to get resto work done if I buy a project car. I'm from eastern Canada and i'm lost when it comes to that stuff out here.

Thanks

Dave

Where are you located in Alberta. Seeing as your from eastern Canada I'll take a stab at northern Alberta(Ft Mac).

Here is a very good resto shop, expensive though http://www.joeysplace.com/

Importing a car is fairly straight forward.

Here is a link I found; http://www.geocities.com/canadian_immigration_club/car.html

where in eastern Canada?

I'm in Ottawa, and ASE Motorsports is an award-winning Mopar resto shop.  They have original Hemi cars, including a '70 Chally vert and '69 Charger numbers matching.

Check out the members map, a few members in Alberta, including Chryco, who can tell you anything about Mopars.

Hey thanks guys, I'm gonna PM Chryco. I'm in Calgary as well. I just want to ask a local about cars for sale/good places to get work done when I do find a car.

Thanks.

there are quite a few of us from alberta, we're the ones with frost bite and our cars burried in the snow bank....lol . Your lucky to be in calgary and be close enuff for chryco to be able to help you out. I have ordered some stuff out of the U.S and it can get pricey on the duty, shipping  then exchange rate of our canadian peso isnt to good either. it,s getting better all the time tho, there is at least 3 speed shops in Edmonton that can get you anything you need  for go fast parts.
