That Wilma was one tough *****!
« on: October 30, 2005 - 09:12:28 PM »
But I survived, and no damage whatsoever to any of the cars.

My home's A/C unit ended up in a neighbors yard, some siding is gone, my screened in patio, which had shutters, was totally destroyed.
But the cars are all a-ok.
And isn't that the most important thing anyway?

Gas lines are 2 hrs long down here right now, but I have'nt tried to wait on a line, I just use a different car, had all 5 filled to the top the day before the hurricane. Most gas stations dont have generators and are closed.
Just got back my phone line today, my power was out for only 4 days.
Now last year it was 12 days without power, and a whole new roof. But that was for the 3 hurricanes that came one after the other, pretty wierd.

But I've been working constantly, we cook with propane gas so we sold out doing take out only from tues - thurs, and reopened with power friday night.
Had our best week ever.

I have a partner in an Italian restraurant in boynton beach, it's called Massimo's.
For the last 3 years I was the gm and we were located in a glof course country club.
We couldn't deal with our landlord, who owned the golf course, b/c he is an anti semetic, anti black dirtbag.

I'm jewish and he would tell my boss-
get rid of that jew bastard
throw him in the pizza oven, that's what his people are used to

Finally, my boss and I left and opened up a new place under the same name.
Biz is great, but I work 7 days a week, from 9AM till about 10:30pm.
My last day off since we opened 3 months ago was monday, hurricane wilma day.
We cook with propane so we only did take out for the next 3 days of the hurricane.
Sold every drop of food, made money.
The ONLY restaurant NOT to be killed by such a catasthrophe.
My partner who is Italian has owned restaurants the last 20 years, he's a wild man.
When he told me about the propane thing, we opened up and I stood out on the main throuough fare waving a pizza box and pointing to the restaurant, and I watched as car after car, hundreds, pulled in.
He hooked a light up to his cig lighter in his truck, and that gave him a little light to cook with, amazing.
