B-Quiet sound deadening material
« on: November 01, 2005 - 11:04:43 AM »
Anyone use this stuff...or anything else for that matter and have real life proof that it works?  B-Quiet seems a bunch cheaper than Dynamat.

Thanks,
Dan

REDLINE and REV-IT-UP used some in the challenger.  They have some great pics and did a fantastic job!  Looks like some good stuff . . . gonna use it in the hardtop this winter!

Hey Dan.  I have never heard of "B-Quiet" before.  We used this stuff...  http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Automotive-Insulation-Car-Truck-Hot-Rat-Street-Rod-Van_W0QQitemZ4581488054QQcategoryZ6755QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem  The guy doesn't have any on ebay right now, but you might want to contact him as he's been selling this stuff for a while.  It's a pretty inexpensive alternative, easy to use and really works.  We put it all over the interior.  Here's some pics.

Thanks Rev,

I have a couple of rolls of B-Quiet Ultimate coming and am planning to do the same as you did.  Does it make a big difference in your car?  How far up the firwall did you go?

I'd say it makes a big difference. I remember before we tore the car apart the inside of the car sounded like a tin car.  Touch the roof, sounds like a tine can....close the door, sounds like a tin can!  That's gone now.  It also reduces the sound from the engine a lot.  Although, we do open our windows to get that great mopar sound.

BTW, I went all the way up the firewall on ours.

Hey Rev,

Do you think this will interfere with your seats or trim panels once you put them back in?  It does seem to mold to the contours nicely. Is is self adhesive or do you spray glue it?  Thanks,  Ed

We used spray adhesive and it worked great.  It is very moldable stuff.  We have since put in our new interior and everything fits fine.  We made sure to cut out the holes for the seat mounting before hand.  The carpet sat right on top of it...no problems.
