This is a good thread, it's interesting to see that most are happier knowing they have the original engine in their cars or at least have them stored somewhere but don't care if the car is correct or not. I think this would make a fun poll to see how many are true die hard enthusiests that are numbers matching correct down to the factory markings types, then those who just want the numbers to match even if the engine is out in the barn, then those who don't give a hoot about any numbers or correctness and just love Mopars no matter what. Guess I'll do it on a new thread.

Yes this is a good way to see just how many really care.  As for me I have not checked most of the cars I have owned except 1.
Got a pretty good start on my M46 optioned Barracuda restoration but now it is on hold till I can gather more funds.  Still need a few parts for it.  SIU Graduate 75 AAS Automotive Tech, 94 BS Advanced Tech Studies, 1997 MSED Workforce Education and Development

My '73 Cuda is matching numbers w/build sheet and fender tag.  I like the matching numbers/correct thing for me personally, but I have no problem at all with guys who change exterior color, interior, engines, etc.  Everybody had their own ideas and that is what makes the hobby go around.

my 65 is all original i know this because my dad was the second owner. He spoke with the original owner and he said that he never changed anything on it and i know my dad didn't, i believe with the older a bodies they didn't have numbers per say on the block just manufacture dates, mine are all from the right year.I actually love the idea that the "number" match because it means that much more to me.I would never in a million years sell this cuda and if i want to make it faster then i have other ways of doing it or just get a 65 with a 6 in it and make it one hell of a ride.

Mine is Numbers matching but would love to build a stroker 400 to get some zip out of her, but then what would that do to the rest of the car..

So I guess I will have rip around in the Swinger instead. :)

In order to be able to "have it all" you would need at least 2 mopars.  One a numbers matching car that was your showpiece, correct in every way. The other car would be non-matching. The second car would allow you to modify it any way you wanted, appearance, performance, whatever. Use it, abuse it, have a blast  driving it.  Either way, you can't go wrong with a mopar!.......Oldschool
