1/4 stroker?
« on: November 05, 2005 - 11:18:20 AM »
I bought my 440 from a friend about 10 years ago (used it a couple of times and there it sat until now). When he bought it it was advertised as a 1/4 stroker. What does this mean? I have to replace the oil pan (any recommendations - street) and I'll have the heads off so is there any way I can verify this?
I may be schizophrenic,
but at least I have each other

Assuming you meant that it was a stroker engine having 0.250 inch more stroke than stock, you can meaure the piston travel once the heads are off.  The stock stroke is 3.750 inches.
