Do you know if it is the correct booster for the car?

Charles,

From the looks of things I would assume it is original. When I removed it from the firewall it had the same rusty footprint as the bracket. It still has the part number tag on the screw but I neglected to look at it closely. I sent it off to Booster Dewey last week.  I will see what they have to say when they see it.  If it comes back dichromate plated it can always be painted black. But I personally like the dichromate look.

I agree about the dichromate look. But Dewey is pretty well thought of by restorers, so I would think he is correct. I asked him some questions about my Bendix booster which is a rare one (and all black), and he seemed to know all about it. My gut is that he is right.

Hey mate, thanks for the compliment.
Close, it's Chrysler Paint code PW7 (Bright White).

The engine compartment is 100 times better now, I will be posting some update photos in the next couple of weeks.

Cheers,
Carl

Cool, looking forward to them, that's one clean setup.

Charles.

Check out 69 B bodies as well. I have one out of a station wagon that will pass as a Hemi booster.

Dewey told me that the difference in the Hemi unit is at the back, including larger studs. The front portion of the Bendix unit was used in several applications, including some non-Chrysler cars. But they are not the same units.

Hey guys,

Just a quick update on the booster.  I got it back from Booster Dewey today and  it looks brand new. He sent me pictures of the interior when he opened it up to show me that it was originally dichromate plated. They did a complete rebuild and replate and it looks 1000% better than new.   I would highly recommend his services to anyone. Thanks again for all your help and opinions.

He also is extremely friendly and helpful- not too busy to talk to you and answer your questions. A guy who seems to like his job. This board is very helpful for recommending people who know what they are doing- folks here put me on to the steering wheel guru in Alberta, Canada.

Here is a photo of the master cylinder and booster from the 173 mile T/A. Note that the cap was plated and then painted, you can see remnants of the black paint on the bail and master cylinder body as well.

SE Division in Portland? How far is Dewey from Nature's? I have freinds that lived close by. ;-)
