8 3/4 Limited Slip Gear Oil
« on: March 06, 2005 - 05:59:54 PM »
It seems as though I read somewhere there is a gear oil that  you can use and not have to add the Limited slip additive  :dontknow:  If so what brand is it and has anyone used it.  I belive Chryco says to use Redline Gear Oil. Thanks

:burnout:  Sorry to hijack your thread, but looks like your question was answered and this is somewhat pertinent...

I’ve always noticed a pretty rank smell with limited slip additives and ran across an additive at Auto Zone that doesn’t stink.  Anyone know anything about it-good? Bad? (Sorry, I don’t have the name.)
Thank You Vets!

One more question (clarification) on this CP, the Redline synthetic, is that good straight out of the bottle for both the Sure-Grip and Powerlock posi's?

Thanks

the Redline oil doesn`t require the sure grip addive used by Mopar/ GM so I assume it si good for most sure grip /posi units

Does the friction modifier keep them from slipping or allow them to slip (around corners)?

Couple of questions....
What weight Redline gear oil should I use in 8 3/4 suregrip rear end in my Cuda?

Where in the heck do can I find the Redline product?  I've checked out the Advance Auto Parts and AutoZone's in the Kansas City area that the Redline websitge recommends, and no one stocks it.

Thanks!!!!

I allways enjoyed the smell, must be a gearhead thing.
