K, here's one of my favorite befores, when I was at the point if I took off any more rusty metal, the car would just dissapear (I did actually end up replacing the tail panel later in the process)
Thae after is kind of intermidiate, not done(many problems with the clear coat) but at least the car has some skins on!

Hey Cudahob,

That is actually a factory paint mark. If you look at the before photo you will see it. I sent pictures of it to Galen Govier and Roger Gibson and neither one of them have ever seen a mark like that. Roger told me some stories of thing he has found on totally original cars. Pretty crazy stuff !!!  He said if it was there then put it back. Some production line worker got bored or felt artistic and boom you have a one of one... something...or other... That's pretty much how I restored my car with paint marks. If they were there I put them back I just didn't copy what someone else had done and let me tell you the factory paint marks are very very very sloppy. They are not these nice neat perfect lines and dots. I will post some photos of my front end before and you will see red paint all over things.
Thanks for the interest,
JS27

Here are some original photos I took before restoration.
If you look close at the spindle you will see red paint from the top castle nut ran all the way down the left side of the spindle to the bottom nut. Check out the lime green paint BLOB that covered the rear end pumpkin. It looks like half a can of paint was used for that one. Factory neatness at it's best !!!

Car was painted first and engine and trans came in from underneath as an assembly.

I agree with you on that one JS27NOB. That brown paint must have been from something else.
