70 Cuda Jack Restored
« on: January 28, 2006 - 10:13:09 PM »
Got my 70 Cuda's jack finished and it actually turned out very nice. I started by blasting everything down to bare metal. Then I primed everything and let it dry for a few days. Then I scuffed everything and masked up the mast and painted the jack part by itself along with the jack hook and jack base. I used dove grey paint for this and then I let it dry for a few days. I then put the jack all the way down to the bottom and then I masked up the jack leaving only the mast to be painted. Now for the tricky part you need to spray paint the mast up to the jack part and then let it set a day and then move the jack to the top leaving it masked up you now must spray the mast and blend into the paint thats already on the mast. Just spray lightly where it overlaps and it will turn out looking great. I used a dull aluminum paint on the mast and it looks real close to the factory finish. I hope this helps anyone else that may have to do the same thing to there jack as it worked great for me.

Great job.   :ylsuper: That's another item that has been on my "to do" list for about 3 years now. Maybe someday...
