Oh my word ! My Grand dad worked on a section of the pipeline ! When I was little, he would tell me stories of how cold it got up there! He used to walk around in a "T" shirt in the middle of winter here in Rhode Island and I'd ask him why he wasn't cold , He would reply , " Son, this isn't cold , you won't neve see cold unless you go to Alaska!" The coldest I've ever seen here was back in 1983 or 84 and that was a week straight of below 0 , including a -17 degree night( no wind chill, with the chill it was 29 degrees below!) You can keep that ! ! !  :wow:

Do you have winamp full?

If you dont, download it from www.winamp.com .

Make sure you get thje best free vrsion, then open it and click file, then media library.

There will be the options [SHOUTcast radio], [SHOUTcast TV], [winamp video] and [winamp music] down the left hand side.

In winamp music there are 5766 songs,in winamp video there are 6245 music videos from hundreds of different artists, and its all free and legal.

New files are added each week.

Dont forget, its streaming media, meaning that if your internet isnt fast enough or your not connected it doesnt work.

Theres hours of fun to be had.

It's unusual but there are times when it can be as cold as, if not colder in the lower 48 than in Alaska. I lived for a time in central Wisconsin, there was a two week period in mid January one year that the high temp. for that period was -15 degrees, yes 15 below was the high. Now it was dangerous, because it was so cold the air was so dry you could feel no moisture, which gives you a false sense of actually how cold it really was. Do you realize how quick you could get frost bite out in those temps? But Minn. and the UP also get even colder temps at times, but I'm sure Alaska is near like being at the north pole.

Need to find a big fat woman just to help keep ya warm , huh? ? ?  :roflsmiley:
I've seen a couple really cold nights here , but nothing like that, How the heck do you deal with it, Obviously , you can't get a lot of stuff done outdoors. I've seen -14 degrees at my Mom and Stepdads place in mid stae Maine for a week straight once, when it came up over 0 , it felt like a darn heat wave ! We spent a lot of time in his basement workshop , making furnature from native cut pine( he has a saw mill ) for the kids and grand kids .Ain't neither of us wanted to go out to the mill to bring in more lumber !

Problem isn't the Ambient temp, but what the 5 MPH breeze does to you. I have been outside, in -45F temp, and 15 MPH wind. ANYTHING exposed for more than ten or so seconds will freeze, and breathing deep will burn your throat.
I really don't mind it however, I guess you grow accustomed to it? It averages around 0 between December, and February here, so it ain't that bad.
