Alarm System suggestions
« on: November 27, 2005 - 09:29:53 PM »
What's the best Car Alarm system for a 70 Challenger?
Looking for at the lease something with ignition cut off. Car of course does not have power locks so there is no need for anything that unlocks…I would like to hear any suggestions on the best set up.
Thanks!
Thanks,
Kingi

My company will not be in the US but just some other options you may want to consider....

I got:

 - Ignition kill switch
 - Inside screecher (REAL loud)
 - Tilt sensor (people trying to jack it up on a trailer or trying to pinch the wheels)
 - Trunk open sensor
 - Hood sensor
 - Glass break sensor
 - Cell phone operation - I can disarm or cut the engine using my cell phone. I get a Txt message when the alarm has been set off.
 - Lock and unlock button

I installed a central locking kit, I recommend you do the same. One push of a button locks or unlocks both doors.
A very handy option to have if you've got your handsful or you have passengers.....

Hope that helps.
Cheers,
Carl

Wow NZ, they definately won't be able to get your car that easily!  Great ideas!

Hidden kill switches and fuel cut offs are helpful too.  Don't forget LoJack if it's avaiable in your area.  Could always pull the coil wire too.

Anything you can put to slow down the thief is good, ie The Club, anything like it.  The Club itself isn't that good from what I hear supposedly because if you take out a cap near the center of the club, a bearing pops out then the Club is disengaged.

I bought a Kryptonite (same company as the bike lock) steering wheel/brake lock that has a cylindrical key lock that is nice.  Not sure if they still make it.

1972 Dodge Challenger Rallye 340, AT, Code TB3=Super Blue, SBD=8/17/1971.  Yes, a Rallye without the fender louvers from the factory because of the body side molding option.

There's a collar lock on the market that is supposed to slow a thief down. Clubs are easy to beat

Sorry mate, didn't see your post. Ummmm, to tell yo the truth, I can't. Mine is a New Zealand based company, not worldwide.
Your best bet is to go into your local Car audio store or Alarm store, print off my list and ask where you could get an alarm system like it.

Wish I could be more help, sorry.  :walkaway: Most alarm manufactuires have what I have covered, so you should find one.
