    Hi guys,

    I have a question that I'm toying with and would appreciate you input.  Thanks in advance for any info.

    Does anyone know of a fiberglass T/A style hood scoop only, not the full hood or steel scoop ($800!).  It would be mounted on a steel flat Challenger hood.  Is this doable?  Any insight will be greatly appreciated.  Did a search and couldn't get any info to my liking.  Thanks guys! :biggrin:

    1972 Dodge Challenger Rallye 340, AT, Code TB3=Super Blue, SBD=8/17/1971.  Yes, a Rallye without the fender louvers from the factory because of the body side molding option.

    Someone on here posted a website where the company was making the hoodscoop in steel. You would just buy it and weld it on.

    It was pricey too though

    My car has a fiberglass hood scoop mounted onto the flat steel hood. I have seen them advertised, but I forget where. I'll have a look later for you.

    Thanks for the replies, guys!

    I looked into the steel one but $800 is too much for me.

    I like the Six Pack scoop.  MAS fiberglass sells them for a reasonable price but I was looking more for a TA scoop.  I think they make them but they are already on a fiberglass hood or something.  I was just interested in the scoop.

    I plan on doing the same.  Either find a decent  (cheap) t a hood or modifing mine. This is a site that has the reasonable priced,  I don't know the quality.  Which one of us are going to be brave enough? http://www.showcars-bodyparts.com/challeng.html

    I wonder are those prices in US or Canadian ? if they are Canadian by the time you do the Exchange rate some of there prices are not to bad, assuming they don't BANG you on Shipping

    Did you check with Unlimited?  They are a fiberglass body parts manufacturer, and I seem to remember seeing just the scoop there before.  But that has been a while ago.

    Hey brotow, love the Javelins!  I always remember the cranberry purple one I used to see when I was little!  The site you suggested had the whole fiberglass hood (bolt on) for $395 US$.  They'll ship US orders from Buffalo, NY.

    Hopalong suggested Unlimited and they sell a fiberglass scoop only for about $120.  If you have a flat hood already, this is a decent deal.  6 Pack scoops cost less ($60-$80) I guess because they're easier to make.

    Hey superblue 72 let me know how the ta hood works out.  The purple Amx has a 401/4spd,  with only 37k.  The primed one is redone to it's original black on black 360/auto, and is for sale, (need $$$ for 70 Chall project).  The blue Javelin is a 6cyl/auto 70k.
