    Trying to decide if 170 lbs is worth $2100.00 extra for a 700 hp hemi build.

    the Alum blocks definatly have more strength & are easier to repair
     I guess it depends on your budget

       :iagree:  Also, if you are capable of 700HP, do you care about 170 extra pounds???  Maybe if you are a serious drag racer. What are you using this car for?

    A lotta show and a lotttttta gooo.  Seriously even the builder says it is overkill.  My thoughts on the aluminum is less weight on the front end.

    I think that probably 500 - 550 hp is more than enuff

    Have you thought about the possibility of an iron block with aluminum heads?   :thinkerg:  Kinda splits the difference on the weight issue and still gives the power of the aluminum heads. It's also cheaper than the all aluminum setup.  That's the engine setup in the Oldschool ride.  775 horsepower and the car weighs 3254 lbs--including the roll cage.  Just a thought.   :cooldancing:  ....................Oldschool

    the extra $2100 would help defray costs of headers, radiator swap, etc etc etc.

    Im not sure what the supply is like from Mopar for the iron mega block or what HP they will take , alum blocks will withstand 2500 hp range though
