wanna sell my challenger> how much?
« on: December 17, 2005 - 11:48:04 PM »
this is my post im not sure how much its worth... This is a 1970 challenger. Recently I have put a brand neew from dodge 360 motor in it.has less than 3 thousand miles on it. It’s a later year 360 soo it has lots of torque. Its backed up with a 727 transmission and a posi 3.23 gears 8 ¾ rear end. The rear end has been recently donw up not even a month ago. Has new bearings and seals and fluid. This is a very rare car. Mopar muscle cars are going up in value 15 to 20 percent every year. Here are some modds to the engine.
Engine everything is brand new have a lot of reciets from summit
360 5.9
hooker headers
msd ignition 6al
msd electronic distributor
edelbrock high rise intake
edelbrock 600cfm carb
k&n air Xstream air filter
speed merchant throttle cable
mopar performance damper
high flow milodon water pump
high performance B&M flex plate
mopar performance valve covers
flex fan
msd spark plugs

Other goodies
Brand new tires
Brand new shocks
Kybs up front
Airshocks in the back
Autogauge gauges for water temp and oil pressure
Hurst v matic 2 shifter mounted on the counsol
Autometer street tach.
Old school aluminum in dy mag wheels
15x10 in the rear and 15x8 in front
rear tires are 295’s
really nice sounding exhaust. Super 40s flowmasters with
3 inch piping. Sometimes people asked if I had a 440 cuz it sounded so damn good
body is very straight.
Interior is somewhat new but not leather.
All original steel parts

The Bads
The body needs to be reprimered.
The previous owner flared the quarters. Looks good but your choice
Has a small scrape on the quarter panel. No major damage.
Truck florr is rusted. But that’s the only rust on the car
Need headliner.
Might need beefier torsion springs. But not needed
Valance panel is a lil damaged but not too bad
Has a little leak in the tranny (might be gasket)

I have previously tried to sell this car before but too many have tried to low ball and ripp me off.        what do u guys think

IMO around $7-10,000 seems fair.

What was the original engine/tranny/rear? Buidsheet, fender tag?

if the car has only minor rust, and you just want to get the max for it, I'm sure you could sell it on ebay for what others have mentioned on this thread. Someone from the east coast would pick it up. If you want to maybe double the value of the car, try and get it painted. Just my opinion.
70 Cuda, 7.0L Gen-III Hemi, Viper T56 w/9310 gearset, 3.91's, Megasquirt MS3x v3.57, Innovate wideband, Firm Feel upper arms, torsion bars, springs and strut rods, QA1 DA shocks. I did everything on this car except the fancy paint stuff and I drive it...and I can't seem to stop messing with it....

If I recall from the first few posts 360madness made last summer, the car was originally a  C-code six cylinder.

The rear fender mods hurt the value, but nonetheless you should be looking at $7-9k.

Sounds like a solid car but needs quarters, trunk floor and stripped and repaint so I`d say $7-10K.
