Hope everybody has been doing well.
I have a co-worker who bought this 1974 Scamp for her son for his 16th brithday. They wanted to put him in something newer, and now the car is only taking up space in their garage. I know a little about the car since I was the guy who led them to the location of the car and know a little about its history. I almost purchased it, but I bought a '74 Cuda instead and couldn't afford both of them.
This car was owned by a lady who bought it new and lived in New Jersey. She supposedly worked within walking distance to where she lived, and she never used the car except to go to the grocery store every now and then. The car was kept in a garage while not in use. The lady died a couple years ago and left it to her nephew, who hadn't seen the car, but received the paperwork and titled it in his name here in Virginia. He had asked someone to get the miles off of it, and they read it to him as 16,000 miles, and since it was near 30 years old at that time, he figured that it had tripped at least once, so he titled it having 116,000 miles. My friend at work said it now reads 17,500 miles. Now, I know quite a bit about Mopars (not much about working on them...just looking at them and studying them), and I can tell you that this is the original mileage on the car. There is no way this car has over 17,500 miles on it. The original stickers under the hood are still on the car, the tags are still on the components (carb, distributor), the interior, the underside, everything on it is perfect. You would have to see it to believe it. Even after the old lady owned it, it has continued to be garage kept, which means it has been kept under cover since new.
So onto the car...it's a '74 Scamp with a Slant-6/Auto on column. It's green on green, and nothing has ever been changed out of it (well except for the battery, shocks and brake lines now). It is a true survivor, and this kid has already won a couple of awards in the couple of shows he put it in. It's a diamond in the rough for someone who wants to get into a very clean Mopar at a low price and start winning shows right away. They bought the car for $4000 and spent $500 to replace the shocks and brake lines. Even with the brake and shock improvements, they are still only asking $4000 for the car.

I just wanted you to know that we’re selling the Scamp. We want $4000 for it. We paid $4000 for it and spent $500 to replace the shocks and the brake lines. It has been garage kept. I’m not comfortable with Devon driving that car full-time with his lack of experience. We’ve found a ’02 Pontiac Grand Prix that we plan to buy. It has better performance – brakes and steering. You know the deal. So if you hear of anyone wanting a classic in excellent condition, tell them about the Scamp. Thanks for everything.

Alice has heard me talking about old Cuda's and Challenger's while we shared the same office, and she told me to look for a car for her son. So, I looked for her, and I finally tracked this car down through a distant cousin. They went and looked at it and decided to buy it. They're not car enthusiasts, so they really know very little about it. More pics should be on the way, but there are a few provided here that they took when they first bought the car last Spring. It's a lot cleaner now than it was then (mildew on steering wheel is gone, etc).
