Paint Suggestions For Intake and Valve Covers.
« on: May 01, 2006 - 08:57:06 AM »
I have just removed my original steel valve covers and cast intake from my 71 340 and have them all stripped down to bare metal. I'm now going to paint them and obviously want them to turn out nice. I have the correct Hemi orange Mopar engine paint to spray. My quesion is should I use anything special on the bare metal first so the paint will stick better and not flake off. I have made sure that all the grease and oil is already off it???
I hear different stories on a paint called POR 15 that comes in the Hemi orange color and apparently it can be painted on with just a brush....anyone used this paint and how did it work out for you????

Thanks    "Tim"
