I would swap to 3.55 unless you really never do any extended highway trips , 3.91 gets old fast on the highway

I agree. I bring ear plugs along when I hit the highway.

Back in 1977 I had a 67 GTX I raced. It had a 70-383 bored 30 over with head plates. TRW 12 1/2 to 1 forged pistons(back when they sold Sunoco 260 at the pump) a crane solid lifter cam 570 lift--Accel dual point distributor--915 heads gasket ported--hooker 1 7/8 in headers--edelbrock trantula intake--750 holly 4779 double pumper carb a 4 speed with 456 gear and 10 1/2 slicks all in a 3700 lb car.The car ran consistant 12:00
and on a cool night at Maple Grove I hit 11:98 and a 114.64 mph.
I also drove this on he street once in a while also.
383 is a good motor that alot of people under estimate.

383 is a good motor that alot of people under estimate.

Nice! great photos. I don't do any extended highway driving with it. Perhaps a 3-4 hour trip would be tops. Any farther and I'd be towing it. I live in Arizona and San Diego or LA are about 7 hours away. I wouldn't mind driving that far, but then I'd have to contend with the California drivers on those highways.
