1974 Barracuda

Hey guys and gals,
Here’s the thing. I have my dream car and she takes all my time and money.

That being said I am interested in picking up a 74 barracuda. This car will be tinkered with on occasion and treated very well in terms of maintenance, but will likely never be restored nor have tons of cash thrown at it. It will be a beater. As such I have a real issue with spending a small fortune on initial purchase. On the other hand I am not limited by the same concerns most buyers here have – collectiblity, performance, are originality all have little value to me.

An example of what I am looking for can be found on ebay right now. # 4599881538

** It must be able to drive immediately and be able to pass a tough inspection with no/minimal work. I prefer white paintjobs and manual transmissions, but will consider almost anything. **

The question:
What price range can I expect for a car like this if I wanted a manual? He wants $7500 which seems high to me, but being new to the market I cannot tell if it’s a steal or highway robbery. Besides here and the bay, are there any other good sites to lurk on?

I am a cash buyer and live in Delaware.

Nice start, but she's too pretty and way too expensive.

My opinion you will have less success finding a driver on $-bay than you will on a site such as this one or moparts.  That being said, the car you show on e-bay seems to be over-prices In my opinion with the amount of rust that can be seen in the photos.  The way I look at it is this, it costs just as much to fix rust damage on a 1974 as it does on a 1970 and the 1970 will almost always be more valuable in the end.  That car in particular they say is drivable but looking at the sheetmetal rust, I would be curious to know how much rust there is in the undercarriage...Photos can be deceiving so it may not be able to pass a strict state inspection.
