1971 Cuda (any condition)
« on: December 09, 2002 - 12:16:06 AM »
I am pretty sure that I am one of the very few girls on here. :-[.  My first post is one of desparation.  My dream car is a 71 Cuda, but I don't have more than $2000 to spend.  I will take the rattiest, beat up, car...even if it's just the shell.  The worse the condition the more restoration I get to do.  Please, help me find my dream car! :-*  I live in Florida but would be willing to travel.

Thanx,
cudagirl

Welcome to the board CudaGirl!  You are definately in the minority on the site, but its cool.  The guys here are really great, pretty funny and don't seem to mind having us around.  I believe you are one of 3 women on the site; myself, 71Pinke and, of course, you.

As far as getting a 71 cuda for $2000, that will be tough.  I did see 2 on eBay about a month ago that were totally rusted out and no engine or tranny that were sitting at about $1800.   I don't know if you've ever done an e-body resto before, but they are NOT cheap to do.  Unless you can do the body work yourself, it's gonna take a chunk of change (not to mention having to purchase a drive train).  But, if you're really up for the challenge, I'll keep an eye out for you.

Good luck and again, welcome to the board.

I know how hard its going to be to find one in my price range, I have looked around quite a bit.  I have the time and the patience to put my heart and soul into a rust bucket, so the condition doesn't matter to me.  It doesn't need an engine, tranny, or anything like that.  I will be doing a lot of work myself (and my fiance), so it will be a long term project.  If you guys could keep an eye out for any, I would be forever endebted to you.
Thanx,

Cudagirl,

I found my 74 Challenger daily driver for $2,500.  While it's not a 71 Cuda by any stretch, it does prove that you can find what you're looking for in your price range if you look hard enough.  Besides, you now have a whole lot of people looking for one for you.   :)

Welcome to the board.
