Not hard but still a pain, there is a single 7/16 bolt holding a forked clip that holds the speedo housing in , but when you pull it 2-3 qts of trans fluid will leak out.
There are 3 different diameters of speedo gears , you need to match the # of teeth on the gear to the number range cast onto the housing & line up the notch for the # of teeth with the nub cast onto the trans tailshaft or you will have problems. clean the area & look at the line up before you remove the speedo housing
