    Well, hopefully I will start working on my car soon so I figured I might as well start buying a couple parts. I am looking into a rear swaybar setup because I want better control over my car, the problem I have is finding a description of what kits include. I have the brackets that attach to the rearend (came free with a rearend I bought), but I don't have the ones that hold the bar to the frame. Correct me if I'm wrong but I should only need the actual bar, frame brackets, and links to have the whole setup....so do the kits bring all these parts??? Also, how siginificant is this upgrade??? I know I wont be able to take turns at 60mph, but will it be noticable?? Thanks

    I think it's pretty significant.
    I know that the rear sway bar isn't all of the package, but if you've ever driven an AAR or a T/A....it will make a believer out of you....

    There is a plate that is also needed for the links to mount to the rear end.  The plate goes beteen the rear end and spring.
    This kit is one from Firm Feel.  You will have to forgive the dust (been doing body work).

    I have the plate you show in that picture. I bought a complete rearend out of 74 Cuda that came with those brackets. It was an 8 3/4" with a 3.55 suregrip in a 489 case. In fact the rearend even had the leaf springs and rallye wheels still on it......the whole thing only cost me 220 bucks  :naughty:

    It sounds like if you buy the kit, you should be good to go. As for is it worth it... I can't say on an E-Body, but I put one on my 79 Duster once upon a time. Wowsa  :o There was a BIG difference. It didn't seem like there was any body lean at all around bends.

    Have you found kits yet? I would like to know what its worth for a rear sway bar and all the brackets.

    Well I have seen a couple complete rusty sets on ebay and they generally sell for 250-300 dollars. Addco has a 3/4" and 7/8" kit for 150 at summit racing, but by looking at the picture it doesnt look correct...that is why I have questions. Summit also has a hellwig setup that is 1" compared to the stock 3/4", but that kit also looks like it is incorrect......

    they are incorreect because the sway bar attaches to the diff & links up to the body , this is a poorer design as far as handling goes but it works
     if you don't use the end plates you have & decide to use the aftermarket kit , I need the end plates

    CP is the Addco one worth looking into? or would it be best to wait for the proper set up? The price seems pretty reasonable.

    probably worht doing the Addco , it wilkl work just won`t look factory , the factory bars seem tough to get right now

    The Firm Feel sway-bar kit looks pretty nice. Factory style body-hung bar with frame brackets, links and

    I had the Addco one's.  I ended up tearing them out of the rear frame.  I had that welded back and switched to what came originally on the cars.   :pullinghair: That is the risk you run by not going with the original set up.  The handling is greatly improved and it holds the road better.  I'm glad I did it.  Just sorry I tore my frame rails by going the easy route with Addco.  The Addco sway bar was thicker than the oem one I stuck in and I noticed the difference in handling as a result.  :bigsmile:
