You could also call it a "factory defect" and raise the price of the car.

master cylinder is a manual drum unit.

If there any fender tag info on the car? Wonder if there is a Y07 code as there used to be a car up here just like that until the mid 80's.

I'd rather have that little Barracuda over ANY Vette, regardless of the worth, but, then again, I'm a tad partial to the bodystyle.

As mentioned previously, 40k tops, depending on how solid she was underneath.  30-35K easy is what it was worth.  If you were looking for an investment car, I believe that the Barracuda would have made a better one than the T/A, as I feel that the AARs and T/As have nearly reached their price ceiling, and will no longer increase in value dramatically, as have the other 70 and 71 E bodies.  However, A body ragtops, ESPECIALLY the Big Block cars, I feel, will become the next High Dollar car (which means I better get myself a 69 ragtop soon), since they are also rare, and have plenty of muscle.  So, I expect them, and other A bodies, to increase dramatically in value within the next 5 years, especially as the B and E bodies become further out of reach.
