Repro bumpers
« on: January 05, 2006 - 02:26:24 PM »
I saw an old topic in the archives but it didnt really go into much detail.  I want to know what peoples experiences are with repro e body bumpers especially 73 where they have a steal support behind the bumper.  How is the the fit and the quality.  I have good original cores, but it is going to cost me more to rechrome them locally then to buy the repro.  Any thoughts would be great.

I wasn't aware they made repro bumpers.  :banghead: I just know of rechroming, or repainting the originals, or pay $$$ for the rubber ones. Do you have a link, or a website where they sell the repros?

I got my rear bumper from http://www.autobodyspecialt.com/ It was a 72 style that I'm putting on my 74. The chrome looks great. About 270 with shipping.

Yup that is the link.  Does anybody know about the fit because I know my originals fit well.

Joe just got me new front and rear bumpers for Christmas from Year One.  I was planning on sending mine out this winter to be rechromed but he beat me to it.  I haven't installed them yet, but I will let you know how they fit when I do.

Anyone ever get bumpers fro Year One?

They seem pretty heavy but I never felt just how heavy my originals are.  I will let you know when I change them but that might not be for a few more weeks.  I have more important engine stuff to be working on, but I will get to the bumpers soon.
