« on: January 10, 2006 - 08:17:43 AM »
My stroker  motor is almost done minus acouple of parts. This  is what I have so far 493ci 11.1 CR Holley SD intake Demon 850 17/8TTI headers.heads will be stage1 edelbrocks 84cc  the will be mainly street driven. I would like to get around 570 to 600 hp  It does`nt matter if it is solid or hydralic  as long as it works with my combo. any suggestions thanks Justin

I ran this one in my 70 Challenger with the Hemi, It worked nice and still drove nice on the street with traffic:  http://store.summitracing.com/default.asp?target=/egnsearch.asp&N=400172

Its the Mopar performance 509 lift, 292 duration cam.

I ran a bigger cam in my 67 Vette and drive it on the street and its great, but at slow speeds it likes to surge so generally under 15 mph I have to put the clutch in when it starts to do that. I see you don't have vacuum for the brakes. Thats good because the 509 cam will make the brakes hard at idle.

I use a lot of the Engle cams , I would look at a K 58 or 60 for a hydraulic , the Mopar .528 or .557 cams both work well for solid cams or I can help you pick a fast Ramp Ultradyne grind if you prefer

Umm Why 600 HP ?
Have you ever driven anything with 600 hp ?
My Duster had 425 RWhp [ approx 550 gross hp ]& lifted the front wheels on the street , ran mid 11s in the 1/4 at 118 mph , the engine had no power below 3000 rpm made 3" of vacuum in neutral & was far from a streetable engine , I used the Mopar .590 cam & revved to 7200 rpm
now you want more power & driveability , you will need a roller cam to do that & alum heads , a supercharger may be the best approach

I have a Compcams in my 440, i believe its .509 on the exhaust id have to look at box to remember all the lift and duration, the question is, is your car a 4-spd or an auto? You can usually get away with a little bit of a hotter cam if your running a 4-spd.
