Deep sump oil pan

For street, is a deep sump oil pan really neccessary?

Only if you are planning to run the rpm's up for extended times. (like a 1/4 mile pass)  Or if you are using a high volume oil pump. In either case, you don't want to pump the oil out of the pan faster than it can return. An extra quart or two is cheap insurance. Just my           ...................Oldschool
