I think rear bumpers on 70 cudas were never elastomeric... I may be wrong, but I think elasto rear bumpers were only in 71... although I have one on my 70! (looks too weird with one of each, IMO...)
I had alway heard that the rear elastomeric bumper was only available on FE5 Rallye Red colored Cudas in 1970... All other colors, like my FY1 Lemon Twist Yellow Cuda were only available with front elastomeric bumpers. The front bumper was available as a separate option or as a option with the painted dual mirrors.
However, Product Information Bulletin #8 (Dated Dec 15, 1969) states the other 8 colors would have rear elastomeric bumpers available starting with production dates of Jan 5, 1970...
The 9 elastomeric bumper colors were:
FE5 - Rallye Red
EB5 - Blue Fire Metallic
FC7 - In Violet Metallic (same as Plum Crazy Purple)
EF8 - Ivy Green Metallic
FJ5 - Limelight Green (same as SubLime Green)
FK5 - Deep Burnt Orange Metallic
EW1 - White
TX9 - Black
FY1 - Lemon Twist Yellow
I have seen several White cars with original elastomeric front bumpers. In fact the front elastomeric bumper on my FJ5 Limelight Green Hemi Cuda came off of a White car...
