lower control arm disassembly?
« on: January 22, 2006 - 11:12:45 AM »
I have taken apart the front end on my Challenger, and am wondering if there is any need to further disassemble the lower control arm, and if so how it is done. I am referring to removing the socket the torsion bar goes into from the spindle on the front that bolts into the k-member. This part sees little motion, and it seems it is just greased once from the factory and that's it. Is this necessary to do or am I likely to create more problems trying to do something that doesn't need to be done? Thanks.

leave it together , I would remove, clean & coat the adjuster screw with anti sieze, for extra stiffness you can weld a plate under the control arm if you want
