Finally got car home here is what I have....1970 n code
« on: January 22, 2006 - 07:23:24 AM »
Hi everyone. Thanks so much for your answers concerning Barracuda's.
I bought my car from  TEXAS TOY BOX  and just had it delivered.
After going over the car I can see I will need access to a parts car.The dealer failed to mention a few items about the car. I asked this chap if the car had air conditioning and he said absolutely not. Well, guess what ? The car has air but the compressor has been removed along with other key components. However, the vents in the dash are there along with the controls. An added bonus !!
Car is  BH23NOB104590. Not a cuda but a barracuda. 383 block with a 440 cuda hood. I need a different hood. It has a go wing which I will remove and sell. Car needs complete floor pans and a trunk pan. Good suppliers for thes parts ?
Roof has ass cheek marks on it and the rear tail pan has been hit and needs to be replaced.
No spare tire or jack set. Rear quarters are solid and the rockers are perfect !!! shweeet.
Here is what I am bummed about :
Front under carriage damage...wow I need to replace ther lower section radiator support. its trashed.luckily no sign of major collision damage and very little bondo in the body.
car was originally scorched red. Interior black but the dash was red. Original buckets gone but rear seat mint and the deluxe cuda interior. I have not found a build sheet. I have looked in all possible places. I did find some thin aluminum tags on the rear seats 3520616
LSI 13685 2230....ANYON KNOW WHAT THIS IS ?
Transmission and engine run well but 727 auto needs a dust cover on the bottom to cover the fly wheel. Engine has got to come out to do bead blast and repaint. Suspension is shot and the rear is a 391,,,,shweet !!
If anyone knows of a good used parts supplier please shout it out !!!

Congratulations "NCode", a car that's 36 years old is gonna have issues and we all know dealers are.... well you know. If you're happy and the price was right then that's all that matters. Now, get to work.  By the way, check out www.goodmarkindustries.com

Sorry the dealer failed to mention things . . hate when that happens.  First I will have to look but I think I have a compressor for your car and maybe some other key components.    383 block with a 440 hood?? Not sure I understand that . . . what does the 440 hood look like??    Parts for the body work . . I go here  - - > http://www.shermanparts.com/index.php  I would think if the dash was red, then the whole interior was red at one point!   Sounds like a shhaawwweeeeeeeeeet  car!  Congratulations!!   :woohoo:

Does your car have the fender tags?  If so, post the codes here and we can decode them for you so you can know what your car originally came with!  Congrats on your purchase.

Thnaks fella's for the info and nice comments. The hood is the fake dual air scoop hood for that year. Has some hail dings and back corners are slightly bent....some feller forgot to latch the hood.
No fender tags as of yet...I'm still searching. Found a build date of 8-18-69 though.

Nice ride ncodecudaguy. To bad about the problems the dealer did not tell you about. I would also check out sherman parts or good mark but don't forget some of the small dealers somtimes sell them cheaper. Also don't forget to check ebay for deals also. keep us posted on what else you find out about the car.

Welcome to the site, Ncodecudaguy!  It looks like you have a nice car to work on, even with the areas the dealer coincidentally forgot to mention. :misbehaving:  Let us know how the progress goes and ask any questions you may have.
