I like the '72 stripe better because:

-the kick up as it hits the rear quarters, as Rev said it shows the rear body shape better.
-makes the car look sleeker.
-makes the car look fast standing still.
-your car may be a '73 but looks like a '72 without the bumperettes.

Just my 2 cents.
1972 Dodge Challenger Rallye 340, AT, Code TB3=Super Blue, SBD=8/17/1971.  Yes, a Rallye without the fender louvers from the factory because of the body side molding option.

LATE BREAKING Spouse Report: In the "spouse swaying" arena, I think I'm making some progress:jumping:  Got some excellent news this morning.  More seriously, after extreme job burnout, two years ago I told myself I was going to rechannel my energies, find a good hobby.  Cars came to mind (spouse would have liked a less expensive one); but, I've always loved cars - so, I thought a 'cuda was just the ticket.  So, I've been watching and waiting.  Both spouse and I have been intensely involved with our jobs in recent years, with his turnout more favorable than mine - that's been part of my 2-year wait.  Oh yeah....he's a he and I'm a she!  You're not going to kick me off the island are you? (Just kidding.)

Wait.... your HUSBAND isn't into cars?  Sounds to me like you just need to stand up, slap him once or twice and tell him, Honey, we are getting a Cuda, or you're gonna be sleeping on the couch for a LONG time.  It should work, since we all know that the women actually run the relationship.  There's just no argueing with them. :walkaway:

Seriously though, it's rare that the wife is the one begging for the old car.  The investment strategy will still work.

Heck no!  2 of the 5 moderators on this board are women! I'm glad he's coming around.  Has he ever driven in one before?  If not, all you need to do is find someone who has one and take him for a ride.  The issue will be over!  Where do you live....I'll be right over!

Well from the other side of the street, I kinda didn't ask ::), she was a bit dissapointed when it arrived, pretty shabby lookin, tried to convince her that someday it would look like our old car she drove the first few years we were married. She was with me(g/f at the time) the day I picked up my 74 'Cuda at the showroom!
The second one raised the eyebrows a bit more :1zhelp:, looked much worse(but is actually a more solid car) now it's just when are you gonna get those things outta my yard! :angelwings:
We do still speak & occasionally I get to sleep in the bedroom!  :naughty: Rich.

I never used to like the `72 stripe but it has grown on me the last couple years and now I do like it.On your car going black on black I like the `73-4 stripe.

My car does look like a 72 since I moved in the bumpers and changed the bumper guards.

4cruzin: You asked for more pics of my '74 triple black 'cuda - here are three - plus one of my very first car - a '70 Barracuda.  Sorry about the fuzzy 20-year-old pictures - they're before the digital camera age.  My cool (late) dad was responsible for me getting both of these cars, and my sister still has her '73 Challenger, which is in need of restoration.  In response to your quote above, what do you mean you "moved in the bumpers" - do you mean you moved in the bumper guards?  I favor the bigger '73-4 stripe.  Gee, if I (finally) get my 'cuda some day, we're gonna kinda be alike.http://:grinno:

AprilsPink72Cuda: It's fun to be here on the island...us girls - we got it goin' on! LOL
