VIN and broadcast

Can anyone tell me where all the hiding places are where I can find the VIN code, and match it to my VIN plate and Fender Tag? I am without a broadcast sheet. Can one be made from the Fender Tag information? Is there any way to find this information from archives? I have decoded my Challenger with decode.exe. I would have liked to print the information.  I had to settle for a screen print.

On an e-Body, the VIN is stamped on the drivers side of the radiator support, and the drivers side of the cowl near the screens.

VIN will appear on the fendertag, and the drivers side door "safety compliance" decal, along with the VIN plate on the drivers side dash. The last 8 digits of the VIN will be on the engine block and trans if the car is matching #'s.

As far as repo braodcast sheets, thats a real gray area. That sort of thing can lead to the possibility of people adding all sorts of options to their cars. I'm not inferring thats what you are doing, but that is one of the problems having a build sheet made up. A lot of options dont appear on the fender tag, so unless you can verify the car came originally with that particular option, there is no way to be certain. As far as an archives, none exists to tell you what options your car was built with.

Thanks for the reply. While reading some posts, I saw that they may have stuffed them in the seat backs. I will look tonight to see if I have one. I was hoping that they would be able to track down the information for me. I don't want to advertise the car for what it isn't, but I don't want to short change myself by not knowing what it had. I am keeping my fingers crossed. I do however have a broadcast sheet for a car like mine, but it is a 318. It is supposed to be the same color. That is why I wanted to know where else to look. I believe I had a long time ago, and it checked out. I had thought the rear seat was a swap, but I also read in the forum that the mothership may have put the incorrect broadcast sheet in the wrong cars. I think I will submit it to Barry for the lost and found section of his E-body registry. BTW, is ther a Challenger registry for all Challengers, or only for T/As and 1970-71?

There are several places that you might find a broadcast sheet.  under the rear seat cushions, behind the seat backs on the front seats, on the floor under the carpet in the front, and on top of the glove box. I've heard some people say they found them on top of the headliner, but i've never seen one there myself.

It has been real easy to check most of the car as it is in 37 million pieces about the house. I did not know to check the seat backs. I will check tonight.
