What's this worth?
« on: January 20, 2006 - 08:00:01 PM »
I called about this car last summer,  older gentleman called me back last night said he was ready to sell

then he said he wanted blue book value  :banghead:   $ 3500

What should I offer??

floors, trunk, frame all good
Why are the only other cars on the road all in my rear view mirror?  Oh yeah cause I got a 440/6 pack

Thank you GOD for the "Go Fast Division"

If it runs good then i'd say theres a chance its worth that. but check out the frame rails and floors first.

if it doesnt run, tell him book value is out of the questin, and offer wha a non running car is worth. which is a far cry from book value.

Numbers matching drivetrain? Seeing as though the body is "solid" frame rails, trunk etc I'd say he isn't dreaming with his price. How keen are you? If you were dead set and absolutely had to have it you would have snapped it up by now.

IMO, I would say an offer of $2,500 wouldn't be a kick in the gut to the gentleman.
If he plays the bidding game stay put at $2,800 and don't budge.

On the other hand it it is #'s matching I'd say his $3,500 would be about right.
It looks in pretty good condiiton, even the interior is pretty tidy.

My  :2cents:

What engine is in it? I'm going to guess and say a 318 car?

I would nitpick the hell out of the car (looks very easy to me) and then offer him 2500 and see what he says. Those coronets arent that rare or worth a ton of money....

The rear quarter says Cornet 440.  I like them cars and think they look great done right.

Depending on what engine it has. I would say it is not worth his asking price, there are better deals out there!!

Yeah but, just because it has 440 on the quarter doesn't mean its a 440. The 440 was just a package like the 500, R/T, SE, and A93 Ma Mopar Cars.

Didn't know that, I assumed if they had a big 440 emblem on the car it probably had a 440.   :screwy:  YOu learn something new everyday.

It's a 318 car and I decided to keep after the 71 Cuda I'm hot on and not bother with the coronet.

Yeah that's a little pricey in my book for that Cornet but, I'm sure someone will be buy it for that price or a little less. Be a nice clone car.
